DONICA THOMAS VARNER
Associate General Counsel
Ms. Varner joined the staff of the Office of the Vice President and General Counsel in 2002 after having practiced employment and labor law on behalf of private and public employers since 1994 and higher education law since 2000. She provides legal advice regarding student affairs matters, immigration compliance and critical incidents/crisis management. She litigates a variety of lawsuits on behalf of the University in state and federal courts with special emphasis on employment matters. Ms. Varner coordinates the University’s response to subpoenas and other formal requests for information not handled by the FOIA Officer.
